Pinewood Derby

Tyler's very first pinewood derby was on April 3rd. He had a great time working on that car with Kenny. He drew a picture of how he wanted it to look, then got to work carving it with his pocket knife. Kenny saw after a few days how slow this process was going. :) The whole project had been put off till the last week because we were in France and stuff, so we were running out of time. So Kenny helped him carve it a lot faster to get it the shape he wanted. Then Tyler took over and painted it all exactly how he wanted. Together they put the wheels and weights on. He loved watching the whole process of going from a block of wood to an actual rolling car. It was such a fun thing for him. His car wasn't the fastest by any means. He got 2nd place one time, and 3rd place 2 times, taking 3rd overall. But he had a blast and that's what matters. And looking at these I realize I never got a close up picture of his car! It's worth a picture so I'll have to go find it.
