I already covered Monday, so I'll jump to Tuesday. Played at the park, notice we're still in coats and some hats for the littles. That night Jenny came over and watched the kids while Kenny and I went to the temple for our ward temple night. There was a couple in our ward that went through for their first time, and Kenny's been the teacher for their temple prep class, and the man asked him to be his escort. So it was a really cool experience for him, and both of us, to attend that night.
Madison hurt her fingers really badly. This was taken a couple days after the fact, it was awful at first. I let them play on the treadmill seriously almost every day, but this time she got her hand caught under the belt somehow and it really rubbed her skin down pretty far in some places. I felt awful. She was very careful and guarded it well, wouldn't touch anything. I'm glad it's almost all the way healed now.
L to R: Samuel, Tyler, Mary, Joseph, Madison, Brynlee. They're acting as warriors in front of the kayak. |
Probably one of Tyler's favorites, the skeleton of a grey whale |
Don't know why this turned out so dark, my phone was acting weird. But Madi is squatting next to me so cute. |
Somebody got a hold of a pen. She's obsessed with her belly button and always has her finger in it. So you can bet that's exactly where the pen went and she scribbled around that as her center. |
Fun in the tub |
And then Kelsey took a bite out of the bar of soap. Sick huh |
Thursday we were supposed to go to Moose's Tooth as a last dinner with the Andelins, but we caught something during the week and all but Kenny had bad colds, Bryn a cough, and I had sore throat and achy all over. That night two girls had fevers, etc. It came out of nowhere and was no fun for the weekend. Then it snowed a few more inches and that was super depressing. But I thought that if we were going to be sick, at least we weren't missing out on nice weather!
And a few more just because Kelsey's so cute...
This is how she gives kisses. Going in for the kill...
Poor Kenny, nice and wet :)
Our go-to Sunday night treat. Chocolate chip cookies. (Unless we don't have chocolate chips, then it's popcorn) |
I know this is a goofy picture, but these kids sure love their Dad, and so do I. We're so lucky to have him and we love being able to hang out with him on weekends. |
The Snow Child - Eowyn Ivey I loved this a lot and felt a strong connection to it. It's set in Alaska in 1920, when people were still moving here to try to settle it. I won't say much more about it, but it was a good story.
