France Trip Day 7 - March 17

We checked out of our nice hotel and got breakfast on the same street at another boulangerie. We switched up the driving and had all the brothers-in-law ride together and then our "original" Andersens rode together in the van. Moments like this are very rare and we had some great discussions. I just love my family. I was also so grateful to Kenny this day for being so patient with me (us) while we took a tour down memory lane. We went to visit our old house and school and were just talking a lot about memories, etc. Obviously not something he and the other husbands could join in on, but they were so good to let us have our time there and enjoy that day together. It was really neat to go back to our old house. I wanted to see inside so badly, but of course we didn't. Hopefully nobody was home and they weren't bothered by us standing on their driveway taking pictures haha. So many memories flooded back. We lived here for 2.5 years (I was 5.5 - 8 years old during this time). We also walked the path we took to go to school every morning. We either rode our bikes or walked every day to school. On the way home we would often stop at the boulangerie and get some fresh bread, and we so looked forward to going there again. But as luck would have it, they were closed when we got there! bummer. It was still fun though. After seeing our old elementary school we walked over to the grocery store that we would often shop at and got some french candy for the kids, and also lunch. From there we continued the drive to Bayeux. Checked into our cute hotel and went straight to the cathedral there. It was so gorgeous. We all went out to eat at a yummy pizza place and once again enjoyed the huge table full of good discussions and laughs. Back at the hotel we got to talk to the kids finally on face time. Oh I missed them so much. But mostly Briggs was making my heart ache I wanted to hold him so badly and kiss his chubby little cheeks. It was really hard being away from him even though I was enjoying our trip so very much.

Walking around the side to see the backyard. A bit intrusive?? Maybe. ;)

Above: Us on the shortcut we used to take to school. Below: this is what we would do with the bushes. We'd start at the bottom of the stem and slide our fingers up, pulling off the leaves and look at the pattern it made in our fingers. It's weird, but it's a memory we all have so we must have done it quite often. And thankfully those same bushes are still there! :)

It didn't take Tim long at all to lighten up and enjoy himself with us. He was pretty solemn the first night, but then he was just same old Timmy, only older and wiser :).

 Our elementary school!!

In the basement of it where the original structure still is. This cathedral (and many of them) started out a lot smaller however many hundreds of years ago and they just kept adding to them as the centuries went on.
