CRUISE day 1

On Friday the 29th we went to the Pearsons for the monthly round of Hand and Foot. We got a babysitter and went kid-less, which was the first time. We always have a blast. I had everything packed and in the car ready to go. We got home around 10:30 or so, woke up the kids to put them in the car, got a few last-minute things and hit the road around 11 p.m. It was all going great until we hit St. Louis (30 min. into the drive) and it started to snow. It just got worse and worse. It was a horrible snow/ice storm for the next few states. It took an extra 7 or so hours to get there because we weren't able to go more than 40 miles an hour until we got to Benton, Arkansas. Not so fun. But we did make it safely which was a great blessing. We saw TONS of cars sliding around and on the side that had gone off the road, lots of accidents, etc. So we were very grateful that nothing happened.



Monday, first thing in the morning, I went to get my hair cut and highlighted (2nd time doing it in my life, and first time paying for a pro to do it). I love it, and so does Kenny. A couple hours later we were all set and ready to go. We kissed our kids goodbye and off we went!! We were all so excited that it was finally here. We planned this many months ago and it just seemed like it would always be something in the future that would never come. But of course, it did!

This is the 4 of us in Galveston, on the ship, before we even started going. I didn't mean to ruin the picture haha, oh well.
